About KAB Group
KAB Group LTD was started by Barry and Kenzie Fairgrieve with a simple aim: build a reliable local service that is done properly, and use it to give young people real experience of how work and business actually operates.
Family-led, local, and built around real-world experience.
Why we started KAB
KAB exists for a few reasons, but the main one is the difficulty young people face getting into work and building confidence through real-world experience. The idea became very real when trying to find Kenzie work, and seeing how hard it was to get a genuine start.
At the same time, there is a practical problem right on people’s doorsteps. Bins are a concern already, and with the move towards food collections there is real worry about smells, hygiene, and keeping things under control. Many people do not have the time, equipment, or means to deal with it themselves.
Pressure washing is a natural extension. Once you are set up to work reliably in local routes with the right tools and standards, driveways, patios, decking and paths are the next obvious step.
What we do
- Wheelie bin cleaning, delivered on planned routes
- A simple subscription model designed to be easy and predictable
- Pressure washing for exterior hard surfaces (coming very soon)
What “done properly” means to us
For us, “properly” means care. The right materials, the right approach, and consistency over speed. It also means building the infrastructure behind the service, not cash-in-hand on a scrap of paper.
We are building KAB around a modern customer experience, with clear sign-up, predictable scheduling, and a proper operating model that can scale without quality dropping. The app and subscription approach is a deliberate step change from how many local services still run.
We also take standards seriously. That means working toward real, recognised ways of working, not just doing whatever is quickest on the day.
Eco-conscious, practical, and responsible
We want to keep the service practical and grounded, while still doing things responsibly. That includes using eco-conscious products where possible, reducing unnecessary waste, and treating disposal properly.
We also look for smarter ways to operate locally, including using e-bikes where appropriate to reduce impact and keep the service efficient.
A family-run business with a bigger purpose
KAB is family-led. Barry and Kenzie started it together, and other children in the family also support the business behind the scenes. The goal is not just to run a service, but to build a structured, real-world platform where young people can learn how work, customers, and business really function.
